SHEENA MAREE LENNOX July 3, 1965 - January 20, 2007 Sheena passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Daughter of Charles Lennox and the late Charlotte (Hall) Lennox, she is survived by her husband Gordon Filewych and her beloved dog Diva. Sheena was born in Toronto where she spent most of her childhood along with annual summer trips to the family property in Jersey Cove, Cape Breton. She became a graphic designer after attending the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax and soon after moved to Calgary where she met Gordon. They established a close knit group of friends who remained dear to her throughout her life. Sheena spent the past seven years in Winnipeg where she and Gordon embraced the wonderful cottage life at Victoria Beach which became the focus of their social life and Sheena's love of the outdoors. Sheena was a lover of all animals and would never hesitate to help anyone in need. Her compassion and the kindness she demonstrated remains an inspiration to all who knew her. We are profoundly grateful for the support and comfort from our many dear friends and family, and all the medical professionals who helped her through her lifelong health struggles. For those who want to make donations in her memory, Sheena would have liked you to support the Canadian Wildlife Federation, the East Beaches Animal Shelter (204 756-2548), the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or your local Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Hard to believe it's been over 5 years; today is July 3rd - would have been Sheena's 47th birthday. The world is a poorer place without Sheena. - Posted by: Rob Keith (Friend) on: Jul 03, 2012

  • I feel so terrible. I had not read the obituary close enough and once I did I realized that Charlotte has also passed away. Please accept my apologies and my condolences. My comment about her being the best cook ever though still stands :). - Posted by: Rae Ann Dagenais () on: Feb 18, 2012

  • I met Sheena in Toronto in 1999. She was transplanted shortly after I was. We met in the physiotherapy department. My heart is aching right now for her friends and family. For some reason today I decided to Google her name as we had been out of touch for a few years. I am filled with sadness to find out that she is no longer with us. Sheena was an incredible person. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with her and her parents in Toronto. Charlotte you are the best cook ever! Sheena came to Renfrew to visit me as well and my daughter fell in love with her. I never had the opportunity to meet Gordon. I have a framed picture of Sheena, myself and my daughter that I will forever cherish. She will always be in my heart. My deepest condolences. - Posted by: Rae Ann Dagenais (Friend, Lung recipient) on: Feb 18, 2012
